E-Type Takes Victory in the Gentlemen Challenge at Imola Classic

Pursuit Racing made it a triple this October. Toby Partridge and Steve Soper took victory in the Gentlemen Challenge at Peter Auto’s Imola Classic, driving our Jaguar E-Type. With another victory this very weekend at MRL Silverstone GP in the Daytona Cobra. Plus, the Cobra victory at Modena Cento Ore at the start of the month.

An Italian classic
‍

Imola-Classic ran from 16 to 18 October 2026 at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Peter Auto describes it as a meeting of “history, competition and automotive passion”, and the setting delivers. Imola opened in 1953 and held its first race the following year. It hosted a non-championship Formula One race in 1963, the Italian Grand Prix in 1980, and then the San Marino Grand Prix every year from 1981 to 2006. Michael Schumacher won seven of those, a record. At 4.909 km with 19 corners, it is also one of the few European circuits that runs anticlockwise, which makes it a demanding place to find a rhythm, making it an excellent and fresh addition to the Peter Auto season.

Winning in the Gentlemen Challenge
‍
The Gentlemen Challenge is one of Peter Auto’s headline grids, and it was part of a full weekend that also included Classic Endurance Racing, Heritage Touring Cup, Endurance Racing Legends, Group C Racing and more.

Steve Soper needs little introduction to anyone who followed touring car racing in its golden era, and Toby Partridge brought the pace and consistency that this kind of win requires.
Congratulations to Toby and Steve, and to the whole Pursuit team. A great closer for another fantastic season with Peter Auto.
